Loneliness is difficult to deal with at the best of times, let alone at Christmas – a holiday centred around family and being together.
According to Age UK, around 1.5 million older people feel more lonely at Christmas. Mind suggests a third of people are too embarrassed to admit they are lonely at Christmas. Loneliness at Christmas is nothing to be ashamed of, but it is painful for those who have to experience it, especially so year after year.
Have you ever had to experience Christmas alone? Hopefully, you are lucky enough not to. But, there are many that do, and that’s why our mission is so important. We want to help people feel joyful, connected and not alone on Christmas Day.
